Pilates-Infused Fitness Training
In addition to providing traditional Pilates instruction, Denise offers Pilates-Infused Fitness Training, a concept that is unique to her and her facility. Many studios do not have the ability to combine Pilates exercises that employ Pilates Apparatus with other functional equipment in the same session. Denise has expanded beyond these limitations to create distinctive and dynamic sessions that appeal to clients who enjoy this type of specialized training.
By combining the best aspects of Pilates with traditional core and strength training principles, Denise devises unique conditioning programs that meet a wide range of fitness goals. During your session, you may find yourself performing movements on a Pilates reformer followed by a set of shoulder exercises on a stability ball or squats on a BOSU. The variety of options are countless, conducted in a private, one-on-one, no-wait setting.
ZOOM Private Pilates Sessions
Since the "safer at home mandate" went into effect in March 2020, Denise has been offering customized Pilates Fusion sessions virtually via ZOOM. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and has allowed her to extend PEP instruction to ALL geographic areas. It's truly been a much welcomed and needed silver lining to our unfortunate circumstances. With a click of a link you can be right into your self-care practice. Her clients have created lovely home wellness retreats for their sessions including yards, decks, quiet spaces in rooms. She welcomes invitations to 1 friend and/or family member with no additional cost to enjoy community and extend positive vibes to loved ones.

Back Health
Denise has a personal passion for helping individuals overcome chronic back pain AND recover from post-surgical spinal procedures. In 1981, at the age of 11, she was diagnosed with Severe Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis. Also known as AIS, Adolescent idiopathic Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine that appears in late childhood or adolescence. Instead of growing straight, the spine develops a side-to-side curvature, usually in an elongated "S" or "C shape; the bones of the spine are also slightly
twisted or rotated. The term “idiopathic” means that the cause of this condition is unknown. After her spine was braced for 2 years while less-invasive interventions were explored, surgery was the selected solution. Eleven vertebrae are now fused together using screws, a Hamilton Rod, and bone chips from Denise’s pelvis.
To this day, Denise remains thankful to have had zero difficulties related to the spinal fusion, which she attributes to the great fortune of having world-renowned orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Charles Bonnet, MD and Dr. Robert Brown, MD perform her corrective surgery. Dr. Brown insisted that Denise take excellent care of her spine and general health through physical activity and focused core strengthening. Pilates
has been the perfect avenue to build and maintain a strong musculature support for the spinal fusion. In addition to strength training, the flexibility conditioning she integrates into the exercises originally developed by Joseph Pilates helps to maintain the integrity of the spine and overall physical wellbeing.
Denise has committed herself to helping others understand that they CAN attain optimal quality of life despite physical challenges. To that end, she has helped individuals both pre- and post-surgery (if elected) diagnosed with: Scoliosis, Kyphosis, Sciatica, Herniated Disc, Spinal Stenosis, and Spondylolisthesis.
